Session description:
In Fiori Elements, SADL Search is hard-coded to a HANA algorithm that, by HANA’s own admission, “finds longer texts that are not similar in a human sense with a particularly good score.” The result? Users laugh at the search results and fall back to wildcard filtering like math. This talk shows why SADL’s choice of the search similarCalculationMode is the wrong default for character-like fields, why HANA itself recommends substringSearch instead, and how YOU and SAP can fix it to that users find what they’re actually looking for in object descriptions and beyond. And, don’t be scared, I have to explain, why SQL for Any(DB) returned even with HANA.
