About ABAPConf Europe
The conference for ABAP developers, from ABAP developers. ABAP as we love it. Changing the deployment model, ABAPConf leaves the cloud and is now also offered as an on-premise edition.

ABAPConf Europe 2024 offers two session tracks with talks from customers, partners and SAP. A 3rd track named SAP Inside Experience is offered in room W3.

Event starts with the keynote in Audimax. After the keynote, there will be sessions available in 3 rooms: Audimax, W1/W2 and W3. There is a 15 minute time slot between sessions that can be used to ask question to the presenter, to walk to a new room, visit the expo or just talk to other attendees.

To help you find the rooms easily and be able to navigate around at the location - and to find the Expo area where our great sponsors show what cool products and services they offer! The rooms can be found on the ground and 1st floor in ROT03. Take a look at the map to find out where the rooms are.
Wardrobe and luggage storage and departure
We offer a way to store your clothes and luggage at the event site. The storage is a separate area where you can store your things. We assume not liability for wardroom and luggage storage. Only people with credentials are allowed to enter the building and a security is on site.
For your travel back home, please be aware that the location is in an industrial area. Arrange for a taxi before and plan with 15+ minutes to get to the next train station by foot.
Getting around
The event building is from SAP, expect that it is barrier free. Everyone can move freely around inside the event area. Other areas are locked and it is forbidden to enter them without an SAP employee by your side.
Free WiFi will be available. Credentials will be shared on-site. To ensure a good experience for everyone, do not use the WiFi for downloading files, watching movies or assisting the Recording of ABAPConf.
There is enought time between sessions to discuss with the speakers and other attendees. Make sure to check out the Expo. Please try to be punctual to the sessions.

We offer breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack as well as coffee and non-alcoholic beverages. Lunch will include a vegetarian option.
In the evening the celebration party will include dinner, beverages and beer.

For those staying a little bit longer, here are some tips to get to know the region.
Kraichgau, the land of the 1.000 hills. Perfect for everyone that likes outdoor activites: swimming, bike, running. From spring to autumn, you can find many sport events: Karlsruhe Baden Marathon, Heidelberg Half Marathon, Ironman 70.3 Kraichgau, Hockenheim Ring.
Nearby you can visit Heidelberg, with its world famous university (founded in 1386), its Palace, the little Heidelberg Tun, the (really) large Great Heidelberg Tun, Philosophenweg, and the old town.
Mannheim with its Quadrate and palace and is the city where Schiller and Mozart lived and worked. It's also the city where the bicycle and car was invented. From there the Bertha Benz Memorial route starts and you can visit the world first gas station in Wiesloch.
Schwetzingen offers a beautiful palace, is home of the Welde brewery and just like Mannheim, Mozart worked here.
Going south is Karlsruhe with its - of course: palace - and its unique layout - that served as the template for Washington D.C. And actually the city where the bicycle and car were invented, and the periodic table, and the first mobile browser. Germanys first e-mail was also received in Karlsruhe.
For everyone interested in technologoy: there is the Technik Musuem Sinsheim and one in Speyer. The Speyrer Cathedral (1030) is the largest remaining Romanesque church (and if you have enough time: the Camino de Santiago passes through).
In case you like wine: Kraichgau, Baden and Palatinate are the wine regions in Germany. If you ever wanted to taste some of the best wines in the world: now is the time.

Is this the end of ABAPConf online?
No. ABAPConf online will happen as announced as ABAPConf 2024 online | live | free in December 2024.

Is ABAPConf Europe an on-site only event?
No. We are planning to stream the sessions live to YouTube. For everyone participating online, ABAPConf Europe should be the same as ABAPConf online.

Is this an SAP event?
ABAPConf follows is own manifest: by ABAP developers, for ABAP developers. And we stay truth to our ideas: this is not an SAP event, it is organized by ABAP enthusiasts. The ABAP people at SAP are supporting us with session content. We are happy with this, and so is the SAP side.

Is this only for Europe?
No. Everyone is welcomed to participate, on-site or online. The event name is ABAPConf Europe to make it clear that it is on-site and the location is in Europe. To minimize traveling and CO2 emissions, we also set with Europe the focus on ABAP devs from Europe.

Will there be sessions in English?
Yes. But we hope to also offer sessions in German. As with our flighship event ABAPConf online, we hope to offer sessions in German and English, around 50% each.
