Location: Mannheim

Welcome to Mannheim, the Square City. Mannheim has a great cultural history and is also the economic center of the Electorate of the Palatinate and North Baden. Manneim is famous for the University of Mannheim and the "Popakademie". Schiller (Die Räuber) or Mozart lived and worked here. It is a center of the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region and offers many well-known sights such as the Water Tower, the Planken, Luisenpark, May Market, Mannheim Palace (which has one more window than Versailles), Long Night of Museums, Heidelberg and many more. Everyone came already in contact with the inventions made here: bicycle, automobile, tractor, world's first rocket plane, electric elevator, Spaghettieis.

We are happy to have Mannheim as a co-location. Thank you Brandeis Consulting.

V12: The last Overview you need on how to Extend S/4HANA On-Premise (as a developer)

Mannheim 60 minutes Language: EN
Having followed the current developments in the area of S/4HANA extensibility with great interest for several years, I came to the realization that a large amount of content is repeated over and over again and is never fully contextualized anywhere. And yet - or probably because of this - i meet a lot of developers who have hardly ever looked into the new concepts and do what they always did - Classic ABAP.

In this presentation, I would like to bring together all my learnings, sources and approaches and give a concise and complete overview of the various dimensions, extension approaches and their building blocks, as well as when to choose which one and what to look out for. With this slideset, every developer will be able to to understand cloud ready development find the right technology for their development based on their requirements.

I will present an open source tool that I am currently working on, which provides an overview of all existing extensions of an S/4HANA system. Currently it only consists of the basic functionality (objects, transports and developers + class diagrams and relationships between CDS views), but by the time of the talk it will provide a more extensive overview of the relationships between development objects.

17:30 - 18:00

A day off
Arriving earlier? Staying longer? Enjoy the beautiful region

For those staying a little bit longer, here are some tips to get to know the region.

Mannheim with its Quadrate and palace and is the city where Schiller and Mozart lived and worked. It's also the city where the bicycle and car was invented. From there the Bertha Benz Memorial route starts and you can visit the world first gas station in Wiesloch.
Nearby you can visit Heidelberg, with its world famous university (founded in 1386), its Palace, the little Heidelberg Tun, the (really) large Great Heidelberg Tun, Philosophenweg, and the old town.
Schwetzingen offers a beautiful palace, is home of the Welde brewery and just like Mannheim, Mozart worked here.
Kraichgau, the land of the 1.000 hills. Perfect for everyone that likes outdoor activites: swimming, bike, running. From spring to autumn, you can find many sport events: Karlsruhe Baden Marathon, Heidelberg Half Marathon, Ironman 70.3 Kraichgau, Hockenheim Ring.
Going south is Karlsruhe with its - of course: palace - and its unique layout - that served as the template for Washington D.C. And actually the city where the bicycle and car were invented, and the periodic table, and the first mobile browser. Germanys first e-mail was also received in Karlsruhe.
For everyone interested in technologoy: there is the Technik Musuem Sinsheim and one in Speyer. The Speyrer Cathedral (1030) is the largest remaining Romanesque church (and if you have enough time: the Camino de Santiago passes through).

In case you like wine: Kraichgau, Baden and Palatinate are the wine regions in Germany. If you ever wanted to taste some of the best wines in the world: now is the time.
